God Doesn't Play Dice with the Digital World
How can we use randomness and chaos to compute beautiful digital worlds? In a world so diverse and detailed that we can’t even begin to model its every complexity, it is possible to explore not just a world, but an entire universe within a single laptop. Using procedural generation, a single seed of random data can be grown into a universe of almost infinite complexity. In this lecture, Dr. Nicolas Wu, selected through student vote, will be exploring how we can use randomness and chaos to compute beautiful digital worlds.
